1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form an agreement between you and the provider of Double Check ("Double Check", "we", "us"). They apply to the Double Check mobile app, the website at doublecheck.no, and any related features (together, the "Service").
Your privacy is covered separately in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
2. The Service
Double Check helps you create, reuse and share checklists for travel, shopping, and everyday planning. Some features — including AI-assisted list generation, larger numbers of templates, categories and variables, and other "Pro" features — require a paid subscription.
3. Your account
- You need an account to use most features. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account.
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it up to date.
- You must be old enough under the law of your country to enter into a binding agreement. If you are under 18, you may only use the Service — and only purchase a subscription — with the consent of a parent or guardian.
4. Subscriptions, trial and billing
Pro features are offered as an auto-renewing subscription. The current price and billing period are shown in the app before you confirm a purchase.
- Free trial. A new Pro subscription may include a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription will automatically convert into a paid subscription at the price shown at sign-up.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Payment. Payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Double Check never sees your card details. The applicable App Store or Play Store terms apply to that transaction.
- Managing or cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from your App Store or Google Play account, or via the "Manage subscription" link in the app.
5. Refunds and right of withdrawal
Refunds for purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are handled by those stores under their own policies.
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal on digital services under the Norwegian angrerettloven. By starting to use a Pro feature (including AI generation, or unlocking premium templates) during the trial or right-of-withdrawal period, you expressly agree that the digital service starts immediately and you acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully delivered.
6. AI features
The AI list-generation feature sends the text you enter to our AI provider (OpenAI) so it can return a suggested checklist. Please read the Privacy Policy for what we do with that text.
- AI suggestions are generated automatically and can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation. You are responsible for reviewing the output before relying on it.
- You must not use the AI feature to generate content that is unlawful, harmful, hateful, sexual content involving minors, or otherwise in breach of our acceptable-use rules below.
- You must not paste other people's personal data into AI prompts.
- As between you and us, you own the AI-generated content that is produced from your prompts, subject to the terms of our AI provider. AI output is not unique to you and similar prompts may produce similar results for other users.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of the checklists, templates, items and other content you create in Double Check ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit and display Your Content solely to operate the Service for you — for example to sync it across your devices, to share it with people you choose to share it with, and to back it up.
If you share a list with another user or via a share link, you are responsible for the content you share and for who has access to it.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or harm or harass other people.
- Upload or share content that is unlawful, hateful, sexual content involving minors, or otherwise abusive.
- Attempt to access, probe, or interfere with the Service or other users' accounts or content, including by circumventing security or Pro-feature limits.
- Use automated means to scrape, mass-extract, or overload the Service.
- Reverse engineer the app or attempt to extract source code, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by mandatory law.
9. Service availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not promise that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, add, or remove features from time to time. Where a change materially reduces a paid feature you have already paid for, we will give you reasonable notice.
10. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, if it is required by law, or if your account has been inactive for an extended period. On termination, the licence you grant us in section 7 ends, except to the extent reasonably needed for backups, security, or to comply with legal obligations.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent allowed by law, we do not give any warranties about the Service, including that it will meet your specific needs, that AI-generated content will be accurate, or that the Service will be free from errors. This does not affect any non-excludable rights you have as a consumer.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — such as lost profits, lost data that you could have backed up elsewhere, or business interruption — arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, such as liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or any statutory rights you have as a consumer.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Norwegian law. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live.
If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, the dispute will be brought before the ordinary Norwegian courts, with Oslo tingrett as the agreed legal venue, unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring the dispute somewhere else.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where the change is material, notify you in the app. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
15. Contact
If you have any questions about these Terms or about the Service, please contact us.
